A few words...Swaham tells the story of Annapurna, whose husband Ramayyar died in an accident. After his death the widow faces a lot of trouble. The small coffee shop, that she ran together with her husband, does not earn her enough income any more. The owner of the house she lives in with her two children threatens to dislodge them. She needs money to bribe people in order to get a job for her son. The flashbacks are filmed in colour, while the present life of the widow in is black and white. The movie was shown in the official selection of the Cannes film festival in 1994.
